Grid Connect - Tips When Buying
Buy a System That Suits Your Needs
Your electricity consumption and/or the size of your electricity bill is one of the critical factors in buying a Grid Connect System. Talk to one of our team members about sizing an individual system to suit your needs. Good advice does not cost any extra.
Buy Quality Equipment
Buy equipment from a recognised long term solar provider. There are many manufacturers and retailers of solar equipment. By buying trusted quality brands from a well established and reputable retailer with a shop front you will eliminate many of the pitfalls. Solar Xpress has a large shop front and warehouse on the Bruce Highway, which is open 6 days per week. We have been in business for over 22 Years and only stock quality solar products. Quality does cost a little extra but when the price is long forgotten, the quality remains well into the future.

Insure Your System
Remember to include your system on your household insurance. Quality panels and racking are robust equipment that are designed to withstand the elements 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. However, if a storm was to remove your roof as it did in The Gap in 2008, your panels may become damaged. Insure your panels for the full amount of the system including the rebate. You only receive the rebate once and not entitled to it again should your system be damaged.
Deposits on Systems
Be careful of solar companies wanting large deposits to secure the sale as this should always ring alarm bells because these retailers are relying on your deposit to buy the stock. This is not good business practice because the company can go broke before you receive the goods. You may also loose a substantial amount of your money. At Solar Xpress we only require a small deposit because we carry a vast amount of stock. You are welcome to visit our warehouse to see for yourself.
Government Rebates and Incentives
Be aware that these rebates and incentives will not be around forever. State and Federal Governments can change policies very quickly. Currently, the rebates have been designed to be scaled down over the next few years. At Solar Xpress we do all the paperwork for you regarding the rebates and incentives. We have a dedicated team of administration staff to assist and support you.
